Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in Engineering and Technologies. The GATE score of a candidate reflects a relative performance of a candidates. The score is used for admissions to post-graduate engineering programmer like(eg. M.E., M.Tech, direct Ph.D.) in Indian higher education institutes with financial assistance provided by MHRD and other Government agencies. The score may also used by Public sector units for employment screening purposes.
Dates of Examination
Online: 20th January 2013 (Sunday)
Offline: 10th February 2013 (Sunday)

Application Fee
The application fee is Rs. 1200 for General/EBC male applicants and Rs. 600 for SC/ST/PD male applicants.There is no application fee for female applicants.
Note : The application fee is not refundable.
